It was an eye-opening experience to see the state of the houses and hear about other volunteers’ experiences volunteering
— feedback from one of our volunteers

We were touched and amazed by the success of the first ever cleaning project done in 2017 at Senja residential district. This year, in the name of ‘Home Refresh’, we attracted 80 over volunteers benefiting 18 households at Ang Mo Kio residential district. We would like to extend our utmost gratitude towards Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Seniors Activity Centre @ Ang Mo Kio 645 for providing us the opportunity for this collaboration and the support given.

Through a direct act of service towards these elderly living in rental flats, many volunteers were able to better appreciate the environment they grew up in and the hardships of our pioneer generation. For most volunteers, it was their first time participating in a cleaning project and through this experience, they were really exposed to the lives of the underprivileged people in Singapore. They could see the happiness from the elderly via their small acts of kindness, either cleaning, painting or simply interacting with the elderly. From there, this volunteers could see the value of kindness to others and to themselves.

Hence, Blossom World Society strongly believes in the impact of this project in inspiring more youths to spread kindness in the creation of a gracious Singapore. We aim to bring ‘Home Refresh’ to a larger scale to impact more people so do keep a lookout for part II of ‘Home Refresh’ happening in September this year!

Last but not least, we wish to thank Mr Aung Tun, Director of T&S Engineering Construction Pte Ltd for his unwavering support, all individuals, students from Singapore Polytechnic and individuals from NAT engineering & Distribution Pte Ltd for your enthusiastic participation!

You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late

Stay tuned and look forward to seeing all of you at ‘Home Refresh’ Part II in September
